Quarter-pounder and fries, Rockin' BZ Burgers in Alamogordo, NM.

Rockin BZ Burgers in Alamogordo is one of over 100 restaurants listed on the official New Mexico Green Chile Cheeseburger Trail.

So, if you have time to stop at only a few, you need to make this place one of them.

Because they’ll make you a slammin’ great burger. A slammin’ great CUSTOM BURGER, whether with cheese or without.

The staff makes you feel welcome right from the start and ordering is easy. You make checkmarks on this form indicating all the items you want, then hand that to the person at the counter and pay.

Then you get whatever drink you’ve ordered, sit down at one of the comfy booths and drink in the atmosphere while the cook works his magic on your order.

I say “atmosphere” because the interior seems the perfect place for a date. The layout is open, bright, and clean. Upbeat. (The kind of place you imagine a teen taking his gal to for a casual dinner date guaranteed to impress. )

More expensive than McDonald’s, for sure. But . . . here’s the question:

Are these the best burgers in Alamogordo?

Yes.

That teen would earn big points from his date for his investment just like my husband did with me since the burgers were perfection.

Turns out we both designed nearly identical 1/4 lb. Angus beef burgers with free toppings ~ lettuce, tomato (none for him), ketchup ~ and a side of fries. The food arrived hot, the burgers moist and juicy.

These were “plain and simple” burgers without unusual toppings or even cheese. But the flavor was primo, with quality ingredients . . . can only imagine how good Rockin’ BZ’s Green Chile Cheeseburgers taste.

It’s what for dinner next time I’m in Alamogordo. Maybe you’re having the same?

The menu doesn’t list the option, but you can get Swiss cheese instead of American cheese on your Rockin’ BZ Green Chile Cheeseburger if that’s your preference.

You’ll find this burger listed on the menu as the Champ.
