I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.—1 Timothy 2:1 (NLT)
Welcome!
Here’s where you’ll discover some specific needs of the people in each of the countries we’ll be visiting over the course of the Savor 196 Project.
Under each country heading are two areas of concern. And for each area, a short prayer you can borrow outright or use to inspire your own.
Whichever.
I only want to make it super easy for you to be confident and bold as you approach God’s throne!
You’ll find more needs and prayers-to-borrow for additional countries as the project progresses.

AFGHANISTAN
Pray for…
the end to child marriage.
A third of Afghani women report having married by age 18, some by age 16. And many of them live in situations where both they and, eventually, their children are routinely abused by their older, sometimes brutal husbands.
Father, please open eyes to the problems that come with child marriage. Give wisdom to recognize the difference between a girl and a grown woman who is ready for marriage — and value them both.
an end to child labor.
Nearly a third of Afghan children work instead of attending school in order to help support their families. So they end up without an education. They’re also exposed to being victimized by child marriage (described above), human trafficking, hazardous jobs, and other types of abuse.
Father God, please protect and provide for these children. Place them in a safe and stable living situation where they can pursue the education they need to thrive.
