Forget Paris. ~ Debra Winger as Ellen Andrews in Forget Paris
I don’t think so.
It’s really easy to forget a phone number or where you put your keys down last.
Or that the pastry shop that makes the perfect cannoli is open only Tuesday through Sunday until you’ve shown up at its doors on Monday at least two times . . . or three.
Surely I’m not the only one this kind of thing has happened to ~!
But there’s no forgetting Paris.
With that train of thought, I plunged into plans to become reacquainted with the most beautiful city in the world.
Join me?
While rummaging for itinerary ideas, I came across this former train station-turned-chic restaurant. The menu seems a bit pricey but looks promising for lunch with a terrace view.
POST-TRIP UPDATE
Ah, Paris! So many fab eateries, so little time. That’s why I didn’t make it to that “chic restaurant, La Gare, on my recent trip to Paris. But, oh, how I did so enjoy the fabulous steak frites at le Relais de l’Entrecôte.
Love this Melodie!
:~) Looking forward to learning the name of that sweet hotel near the ferris wheel you so enjoyed a while back!
This is great! I felt connected with you on the video. It is a very nice addition and you have such a soothing voice to listen to. I’ve never been to Paris, so I will be looking forward to hearing all about your great adventures.
Thanx, Cindy ~
I’m looking forward to living those adventures!
Hola Melodie!!! Wow, I so miss you now that I have heard your voice! Truly appreciate how real you are! Imagine how much you will have to share with the world after this trip! We really need to catch-up SOON! If ya need a house/pet sitter while you are gone that would be a pretty good excuse to finally get down to my New Mexico!
Blessings & here’s to an awesome new adventure,
Carolyne
The Jimenez family as house sitters, now there is an idea . . . Looking forward to watching a “Going to New Mexico” video on your site someday soon!
Great way to start building a personal connection with people. Honestly never been to Paris but maybe someday! Take care and wish you the best in your travels!
Thanks, Jared ~ I understand why a trip to Europe might not be a priority right now since your new book, The Connection Brand, has just come out. Congrats!
Hah thanks Melodie 😀 Did you get my email? I’m not sure if it went through on 48days.
Nope, Jared, haven’t received it. Do send again, this time through the “Contact” bar in my menu above so I’ll be sure to hear from you.
hello Melodie, I got on here by way of Virtual tourist (Sinjoor). I like your page and the video. And in answer to your request on the video, I am sending a few hints. upto about half a year ago I lived very close to Paris ( about two hours by high speed train), so was there regularly, as I love the city. last time was in 2010 on a very beautiful and romantic “engagement honeymoon” with my current wife (member Flety on VT) who flew in from Mexico. We spent four gorgeous days in July, visiting the obvious sites such as Notre Dame, the Eiffeltower, the Louvre and so on. At the time we stayed in a sober but quiet little hotel off Boulevard Clichy in the 17th arrondissement. It was in Rue Legendre and its name is “Hotel Paris” (http://www.booking.com/hotel/fr/paris-legendre.nl.html?aid=311093;label=paris-legendre-zeepzYDrhatwlHi_kzEFmQS8527638804;ws=&gclid=CJyU1MTzrrYCFZGiPAodZhQAdw). The rooms are small, but as my future wife very wisely pointed out, you only need to sleep there. Another hint is something that popped up on VT not long ago about an apartment for rent at a stone throw from Notre Dame etc in the Jewish quarter. (http://www.breaks-in-paris.com/the%20apartment.htm ). I went to have a look in Google Earth and it looks cosy. If you have never been there I recommend a visit to cimetiere du Pere Lachaise, whish is impressive. Lots of French celebrities are laid to rest there and there is lots of beautiful art to be admired in the monuments of such people as Edith Piaf, Chopin, Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison, etc….
I
Anyway I hope you have a great time.
Greetings from Monterrey, “old” Mexico,
Luc (aka Sinjoor in VT)
Thanx, Sinjoor . . . Luc ~ I like both your names! Appreciate your stopping by and sharing this memory of Paris, a romantic visit with your wife. AND for the lodging info, including this particular hotel booking site. The apartment seems quite attractive and I did want to return to Le Marais. AND about the art to be seen at Père Lachaise! Wow, my list of to-do’s is getting long – looks like whether I book a cozy apartment or even “cozier” hotel room, I really won’t be doing much more there than sleeping, as Flety said!
Hey there Melodie,
Sorry I’m a bit late in replying to your message.
Your video, along with a little introduction at the top, is perfect! Great job, and I hope your Paris trip is awesome!
Glad to be on your friend list, and thanks a bunch for trusting me enough to ask for my opinion on this! I am very blessed.

Archie ~
Thank you! The blessing of our friendship is mutual.
I had fun doing the video, even with the wind throwing my hair around!
Excellent Melodie! Love the personal connection.
Appreciate that, Kevin ~ I do like having another way to “show” as well as “tell.”
